I opted for the Walnut wood stock option, at an additional $200 cost. I am a woodworker for many years, and this stock is not Walnut perhaps STAINED birch. I didn't notice until I installed a rail for the bi-pod and noticed the lighter wood after c'boring for the t-nuts. I am a bit disappointed about it - I gave up the black stock, paid $200 for a stained piece of wood that was advertised as walnut. If I had known I would have opted for the laminated stock.
