That is the rifling in the end. Looks normal I wonder if previous owner could have messed up the Barrel crown a little. Again not a hard job but if you had a guy that does them would be better. Take the shroud end cap off make sure the barrel is in the block properly and tight and see what she does.....a guy not knowing how to properly clean an airgun barrel could ruin the crown if he used a cleaning rod from the front. How much has it been shot? Any signs other than the mod being opened up? Scratches on the barrel shroud end cap loose screws......

OH MY FREAKIN' GOODNESS ! Thank all of you for your suggestions. I took my .25 verminator barrel off and cleaned it. I made sure it was well seated and took the end off of the shroud, which left the end of the barrel exposed. By the way, It's almost like the report from shooting a .410 shotgun like that. It was dead freakin' (I like that word) on at 25 yards. I was so relieved. I added the shroud cap and I had to adjust the zero slightly, but it was still accurate. It also reduces the report significantly. Not as quiet as my .22 Marauder, but decent.Then I added the FX modular moderator which reduces the report to a little louder than my synrod and it shot all over the place. So I found the culprit. When I dissassembled the moderator (6 segments) and inspected it with magnification, I could see a light line on the new piece I added. So I put it on the drill press and bored it out like the others and when I fired again it was simply marvelous. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU !! I have a keeper. Now I feel I can do things like TonTon Doogy my French Hero. When I was done I saw a string hanging from one of the stationary targets at 25 yards. I batted it around at will like a cat! Serious fun---look out squirrels! One more question since it started getting dark and I had to quit. The vermy has three power settings. If I change the setting does the POI change at 25 yards? Low might be nice for varminting.
