Posting some updates on my project. Its paint is on and reassembled. I added another support beam, which I will add another shaft and bearing carrier. I made the machine extra wide to be able to do guitars, so adding the beam and carrier will give the horizontal beam extra support for the precision needed for inletting. On my first test, I realized I needed more clearance, so I raised it 1.5" and remounted the stock jig. Here is my first test using a cheap piece of cedar. Its roughed out with a 3/4" bit. I need to make a 1/4" follower for my 1/4" bit to finish the inletting. Once I get the kinks worked out I'll start cutting the walnut blanks.
