FX Wildcat Trigger Weight Adjustment

My Wildcat trigger was not bad from the factory as far as the balance between the first and second stage adjustment. The weight of pull range from 1 pound 4 ounces to 1 pound 8 ounces. I was hoping that it could be adjusted down to a lighter pull in the range of say 12 to 16 ounces. I watched Ernest Rowe's video on adjusting the Wildcat trigger which covered the first and second stage adjustment and safety engagement. In this video he did not use the trigger pull gauge to show results like he did adjusting the FX Royal and similar FX rifle triggers. Does this mean you are stuck with the trigger pull weight as it comes from the factory unless you start modifying the trigger group. I would not of course do that myself. For those of you with Wildcats what are your trigger weight pulls if you know. Bill

"DuncanHynes"Mine now is 1lbs 6oz. Rowe is going to fix the craptaculor clevis that FX thought good enough to slap on a $1,200 gun.
Duncan are you happy with the trigger pull weight you have now or is Ernest going to work on that for you. If not what weight of pull do you want. Also is the trigger rod clevis connectors the only thing he is going to work on for you. I'd like to know what things he will do on a rifle tune for the Wildcat. Thanks Bill

He is going to replace the clevis on both trigger side and stage side of the rod linkage. He will adjust the stages for play and creep like in his video too. I like the trigger pull weight. My Daystate has a 9oz trigger and that would be scary for a hunting rifle if you ask me...it is just a paper puncher. 1lbs and 6-9oz is nice as long as it is predictable. I want to be able to have my finger 'touching' the trigger and if the critter moves or something wont pan out for a clean shot I dont want to have it just go off because it was 9oz or something crazy. ☺

I was able to tune my trigger down to about 14oz. and that's with the factory clevis. It took me about a half hour to get it there but I ended up finally tuning it to about 1lb exactly. I also shortened the first stage travel and eliminated as much creep as possible after the second stage break. Lastly I loosened the trigger blade and canted it slightly to the right as I am a right hand shooter.
