Wow....170 reg pressure ! FX advises not to use higher reg setting than 160 as this can void guarantee.
so where is the additional or different plenum that you were promised by the FX spokesman ?
I guess from 230 to 170 bars this leaves you with no more than 20 shots on a full fill ?

Yeah just went and looked at the manual and it states to never go above 160 or it will void your warranty and cause damage to the gun. Wish I knew how to post a picture of it.

The last FX rep I spoke with mentioned "that special plenum install" so I guess it was "special".
I haven't shot it yet, will do this afternoon, and get some shot counts. I get plenty of 45-50fpe shots from my .25 DL, so I am fine with this one being a high powered low shot count shooter.
As FX themselves set my reg to 170, I don't think i have any warranty concerns.
It did come with a plenum piece installed, I'll get a pick of it later. Much sexier with out the gap from the DL plenum

If it di come with the Ernest Rowe power plenum I am sure that is the reason of your power output now . I also have one installed in my .22 compact and this really makes a difference. Fit is perfect indeed. So now we can finally come to the conclusion that the power output FX advertises for their .25 Sniper is not to have out of the box but with the installation of an additional power plenum ( 40 dollar ex. Freight) and a very high reg setting voiding guarantee when we take FX manual by the letter . Wow.... I would set my specs a bit lower if I was FX .

looks like this one ? Or longer ? ( Ernest made 2 versions. 1 is slightly over 1 inch and the other more than double the length . )

with the reg set at the factory (looked more like 180bar, too) I got right at 16 shots at 70-72fpe.
I decided to turn down the reg to 150 and refill and see what I got...but I was out of air. Compressor running now...

That’s the one ! Got the same . This is a power plenum developed by Ernest Rowe and introduced in this forum by Joekool . Especially made for the Wildcat and Streamline. Main difference ( besides the gap 
) With DL powerplenum is the fact that the adjustment hole of the regulator remains uncovered. In my case the screw thread resulted in an accessible reg adjust hole as you can see on my pic . And like I said no more need to couple 2 together as a double length version is available .

what pellet or slug do you intend to shoot with this WC beauty most ?

I plan to test the NSA pellets 33 and 36 grain and see which is the best performer at 100 yards. Slugs are supposed to be delivered tomorrow.
Backyard testing for now...I turned the reg down to 150. With PW on 1, I am getting 918fps with jsb heavies, for almost 63fpe, so far 1 mag of 16 shots took it from 250bar to 200bar. Would be really nice if I can get a second mag from the remaining air.

Why did you not order an 29 and 29.5 grain NSA slugs ? I believe those will be a better Wildcat match with “ acceptable” re settings .
my experience is that NSA slugs like 925 ‘ ish minimum velocity for precision . I would estimate your 150 reg setting with power plenum as you have now would deal with the 29 grains perfectly well.

Wimpanzee - can you measure that extension so we can confirm if it’s the 1” or 2+” version that can be purchased from Ernest?
And the million dollar question is whether the next batch of wildcats will have this installed from the factory or if it will need to be purchased and installed by the owner.

None of this is a big deal, been happy with my MKIII since cutting the tape on the shipping box. These plenums are only a anodized aluminum threaded piece of pipe with an o-ring that you screw on to a pellet gun. The entertainment you display over it is fascinating... I’m only glad for Wimpanzee, he’s waited quite some time for his airgun. Hope he’s happy and satisfied with the outcome.
