FX Wildcat MKII next gen ....

Nothing wrong with a bottle gun, as I own one in the Hercules Bully, but as Chuck one day told me awhile back, the tube guns look so much better, and the Wildcat is such a sweet looking rig anyway, why change it? For what it was designed to do, it’s perfect the way it is. Simple, and gets the job done wether target shooting or putting down pests.

I own two MK2 wildcats, and still wouldn’t mind picking up a third, in the 25 cal compact, because they are now a rarity. I would own it just so I could say I own “a the family of cats”.

I want to add that in my views only, the one bottle gun that can get away with a bottle mount and still look sweet, and that goes to the full length Uragan’s. All else to me look like basement DIY designs, no different than a Marauder that someone put a bottle on. If I had to narrow it down as to why tube guns look better than a bottle gun, it’s because in the non schooled, non air gunners eyes a tube gun looks like a powder burner. A bottle gun looks as if someone’s going paint balling! My opinion only.

A gun like this already exists in the fx lineup. Its the dreamline bullpup. There is a version of the dreampup that has a bottle instead of an air cylinder as well as external manometers.

as much as i love my wildcat, i would never even consider the dreampup. the rear cocking lever is a deal breaker! and the robustness of the barrel isnt even close to the wildcat the way it floats. just not a gun for me is all.

I agree with you on that. I just wanted to say that if the new wildcat is a bottle gun, it will probably look a lot like a dreampup with a bottle. More robust and all, but the general look of the gun (stock etc) should be quite similar.

My little Wildcat Mk-1 is the most accurate PCP I've owned. It's a 22 and came off the first pallet of Wildcats received in the US by AOA. It's my go to gun and has 50K rounds through it. I've lost count. Tough little gun. rides around on the back seat of my truck. Thing is when it was new it would just stack pellets at 50 yards. One hole. Now thousands of shots later the groups have opened up to about an inch. Wondering if the barrel is wearing out. Was thinking of ordering a new barrel, but you suppose they even make the original ST for this gun any more? Be interesting to see. When I'm gone and the kids are cleaning out my stuff they will find this Wildcat and a 124 Fienwarkbau. sylvan

its practically impoasible to wear out airgun barrel because lead is much softer than barrel material.

measure pellet speed and clean it as good as possible

So second time this week that a post has disappeared entirely. This time I know for sure OP was not involved. Now, there may be good reason for this one, but not the case for the other, it was a legitimate rebuke. Cronyism maybe? Not saying I got played for a punk, but definitely left hangin and somewhat suspect. That along with accounts being deleted for no apparent reason. If you’re going to use avatar such as “scales of justice”, always live up to it in good faith.

The thing that concerns me is the Pat Pend on the rear hammer spring adjuster. If that is a patent on a rear hammer spring adjuster there will be lawsuits in the future. Companies like Taipan will have to pay FX for the rear spring adjuster on all Taipan's sold... and any other gun with a rear hammer spring adjuster would have to pay also.

Media black out brother. No spoilers. no teasers, total black out.....

FX has a pretty big presence here on this forum.

Too late for that, Cat’s out of the bag.

Hope that’s not a just a hammer adjuster. I was really looking forward to something more like the adjustability of the Streamline.

Xaxaxaxa, it was taken down again. Media blackout strikes again!!! Looks pretty nice, but it would be interesting seing a wildcat with a bottle instead of a cylinder...

The Pat. Pend. is probably about the way the knob functions.

Guessing a spring loaded ball bearing working with detents on the back of the wheel.

That would make sense. Hope you are correct. I have seen things go south in other hobbies over patents. It always gets my attention now.
