FX Wildcat MK2 regulator VS Huma

OK, I have the FX Wildcat MK2. It has an outside adjustable regulator. Actually very easy to adjust. Dropped my reg pressure to 90 bar and am shooting JSB 18.13's at about 17 ft lbs. The problem is the reg creeps quite a lot UP if I leave the gun charged for a while. Looking at the Huma regulator BUT it looks like you have to disassemble the gun to change the reg pressure. Is the huma reg that much better or is there a way to fix the FX regulator creep. Had FX reg shooting right at 30 ft lbs but don't need that so I thought I would turn it down for more shot count. At 17 ft lbs I get quite a few more shots but the 10 lb variation in reg pressure creep makes a lot more difference at the lower speeds. Your thoughts please.

I don't have a wildcat so I can't say how to adjust reg pressure. But I do have an impact with amp reg and it creeps 5 bars when I got it new from airgun depot . Months later it started to creep up to 10 bars. So I ordered a huma reg. Paid $120. Replace it with the amp reg. No more creep. Been 6 months now and havent creep yet. Imo a gun costing $2000 shouldn't have to replace it. Oh well. If you want to stop to creep, probably have to get the huma reg.

You are correct...the Huma is not externally adjustable, but it is much less prone to reg creep. Here is the Huma that I recommend for you to replace the one in your .22 Wildcat MKII...https://www.huma-air.com/FX-Wildcat-MKII-Tuning-Regulator For your .22 the Low Pressure model that is adjustable from 60 Bar up to 110 Bar should suit your needs much better than the High Pressure model that has a working pressure of 100 Bar up to 170 Bar.

All the best, Chuck

Years ago I was looking at suspension options for a car I was using on track, and an adjustable coilover setup seemed right. An experienced instructor told me, "the problem with adjustable suspensions, people want to adjust them!" Many of us like to tinker, and that's fine. But, once you get your rifle set up, there is really little need for future adjustments. I put a Huma reg in my Royale 400, and yes, it was a bit of a chore to take it out a few times before getting it right. But, I have not touched it since. Obviously, anything mechanical is subject to wear, and anything can be assembled with a defective part. But if you are having issues with the FX reg, I recommend the Huma. You will likely need to take it out for at least once adjustment during the tuning process, but then you should be in good shape. There are companies such as Huma who make excellent regulators, I don't know why so many makers are unwilling to use them. I think most of us would be willing to pay the small difference to have a reliable reg from the start.

Thanks for your input. I should have said, I have a Marauder Prod that I had issues with. I did put a Huma in it and it fir a sub $400 gun is extremely consistent. Dare I say tack driver out to 35 or 40 yards. My main question was with the much more expensive and obviously better air rifle the Wildcat MK2 was the adjustability vs accurate Huma. Thanks for your help, Huma on the order list.
