Fx wildcat Mk2 compact

I got my fx wildcat mk2 compact in the mail today. I haven't yet had a chance to shoot it over the crony or past 25 yards yet. But I did shoot an 8 shot group at 25 yards. Will be updating after I push it further and use the crony.

"Hanebuth96"I'm still trying to decide what scope to buy for it so for the time being I just put a hawke airmax 4-12x40 on it so I could get a bit of trigger time in before I make a decision.
same here. Trying to figure out what a good hunting scope should be. I have a Hawke Airmax 30 SF 4-16x50 for target shooting that's going on my Crown when it arrives.

I'm quite interested to see your decision.

Hannebuth96,
Thanks for sharing the info about the .25 Wildcat Compact, looks great and I like the case that comes with it. I will give you a couple links to go look at the Athlon Midas BTR 2.5-15 SFP IR...I have two of these - one on my 25. Wildcat and one on my .25 Streamline. At low power you get a huge field of view, and high power is sufficient to hit paper cups at 130 yards...more than enough magnification for long range shots. Here ya go:

And here is what the Athlon looks like on my Wildcat...

Here are the results with my Wildcat Compact. On it I have a Hawke Sidewinder 6.5-20x42 with Hawke Match High Rings that puts the sight Height 2.5" above the centerline of the barrel. I am also using at Atlas BT46-LW17 Bipod and a small shooting bag to help support for zero.

Using Chairgun Pro with the JSB 25.39, FPS of 875, Kill-zone of 0.60", I get the optimum zero range of 42.1 yards. I zeroed in and I then did another 3 rounds of 8 and got groups of 1" around the target (all 1/2" from the X of the target). I do not recall the starting or ending pressure.

I pumped it up to 230 bar. Previously I was stopping around 225 bar. The first round of 8 shots was low and to the left a 2.25" group around 1.5" low and 1.5" to the left. This group started at 230 bar. I then did another round of 8 and hit dead center with a 3/4" group. Starting pressure was around 195 to 200 bar. Photo of target is below.

I am wondering if 230 is too much. Looking at my chrono results in the previous post, the sweet spot is around 145 to 200. Not sure why that first round of 8 was off. I did not do a third since I had to pack up but will test more next weekend.

That seems a bit odd. I’ve heard of regulated guns having a sweet spot, but isn’t the purpose of the regulator to deliver the set pressure across the entire fill pressure? Both my .30 FX Bobcat and my .22 Daystate Renegade are regulated and have a flat response from 250 bar down to reg. set pressure.

I just came in from shooting one of my Wildcat original versions, in 22 cal. The "POP" on the target didn't sound right, even though it was hitting POA but thought I'd check the hammer spring anyhow. WOW! it had backed all the way out! I had set it at 1/2 turn out from all the way in, with my chrony. I have read about this in other threads. Guess it's time to make a back-up plug for the hammer spring adjuster. I have a Huma reg in mine, set to 150 bar and it seems to like the JSB Heavy 18's, but also puts the 25 gr Monsters where I want them too! :) Just put my new ATN 4K Pro scope back on, trying to force myself to like it, but right now, it's kinda like having to be polite to a relative you don't like, at Thanksgiving Dinner!
