FX FX Wildcat Mk1 problem: leaks air (POP!) during shot at magazine. FIXED!

I replaced all the o-rings early last year and then it was perfect. (The rifle leaked audibly before that and the pressure tube emptied within a few hours)

It has been working fine for more than a year now, but lately I noticed that the pressure tube was at 0 after a few days.

My Wildcat Mk1 (with the original smooth twist!) gives a loud pop at the shot, and you can feel, and hear! :-( the air coming from somewhere near the magazine. It doesn't affect the accuracy of the rifle but it does affect the shooter...(and I already have tinnitus :-(

But it didn't leak audibly and emptied in time of several days. And so now suddenly a nasty loud knock at your ear (I shoot left handed).

Just took the barrel out and the o rings on the outside seem good, as well as the probe seal.

So what could be wrong this time?

TIA!

Check the cocking lever linkage to ensure that the pellet probe is not out of adjustment and is seating to the proper depth for the breech seal to work properly.

Your slow leak over time is an O ring issue. Check the fill port check valve assembly with soapy water first, they are known to get wonky over time.

Excellent point! Maverick and wildcat are the same and my buddies maverick linkage moved on day 2. I forgot that until you helpfully reminded me.

Thanks for the answers guys,

On the Mk1 the probe is not adjustable.

So I pulled the barrel again and this time fully removed the probe seal to see if it was as good as it looked. Turned out there was a lengthwise cut, so after replacement my WC is back up and running!

Thank you 6gun !🥰

That would not have explained the gun going empty in a few days. You still have a problem somewhere
My guess is always fill point check valve or regulator body outer oring if so equipped. My buddies mav had the linkage issue and 2nd reg body oring issues just months after purchase. Parts were just looser than needed to maintain an oring seal in heat.
