FX wildcat leak

If you just feel a puff when you shoot it's the breach o-ring. Easy fix. I just had one go out of my 22 wildcat today. Remove the three screws on the cheek plate, remove the barrel screw and pull the barrel. Use a plastic tooth pick or dental tool to take the old one out. Lube up a new one and work it into the grove. I have a wooden dowel I run in from the end of the barrel that helps stuffing the slick little bugger back in. When you replace the barrel be SURE and take the screw that holds the barrel completely out and then slide the barrel in. Look in the hole and you will see the marks on the barrel from the screw. Line it all up and run the screw all the way in until it just touches and starts into its original marks. At that point you can gently wiggle the barrel as you tighten the screw. It will go back in the same spot and your alinement will be correct. Hand load a pellet and feel for a puff when you shoot. Takes longer to write all this then to do it. Mine eats a breach o-ring about every 5K shots. Good luck. Sylvan

Breech Oring is a potential prob. On my .22 – I went thru the 1st one in two weeks of use and then every 4 tins or so thereafter. Switched to Viton brown oring 6 months ago and have not had a problem since. Daily shooting many tins.for the Viton, you will def want to remove barrel to install. Good video on AoA channel. If you don’t take your barrel off, you might end up wanting to pull out your hair in frustration.
