FX FX WILDCAT gen 1

i degassed my wildcat today to add a reg in place of the brass plug. filled it up seemed to hold air pit ear next to gauge. went back to check on it 4 or 5 hrs. later and 0 pressure. so i gassed it up again. its leaking past the oring on the breech end of the cylinder? didnt touch that. my question is , by degassing does this sometimes happen where orings are compressed and just dont seal again.?
next question……
the parts list shows the oring as a 23mm x 2.5mm. is the 23 inner or outer dia. not sure how fx sizes.
thanks!

Being a gen 1 how many years does that make it? Betting when you pull it apart you are going to find a hard oring or one that doesn’t really seem to be made of rubber anymore.

I just had this with an old AirArms S400. It started leaking so I pulled the tube and changed the orings.

Put it back together to find a new leak at the other end. I know better and should have just done all of it. The new leaking oring was crumbled plastic when I removed it. No clue how it had still been holding.

With o- rings 23mm refers to the I.D. (inside diameter) . For the outside measurements you double the thickness 2.5+ 2.5= 5mm. This o ring would be 28mm outside diameter

2.5 is the o ring thickness
