FX Wildcat Compact / Huma Regulator with Power Plenum

Good morning

Question. I recently bought a Wildcat Compact MKii. And while after much reading it appears that the consensus on here is that Taipans and Edguns are much better. I have already invested in obtaining the Wildcat... I am looking to upgrade. What i am unsure is, since it is a compact... will the WIldcat regulator and power plenum fit in this model or is it only for the standard Wildcat MKii?

Thank you

Gabe

It will fit but not sure if there is any benefit to installing the power plenum on the compact (500mm barrel).

Shorter barrels need all the help you can give them in the efficiency dept.

Power plenum would allow lower reg pressure to obtain the same velocities, and give higher shot count.

Thank you. I will order it then. Much appreciated.

I wouldn't classify a straight out of the box FX a Yugo. Respectfully have agree to disagree. YO!

So what are you saying then? Because the end user might screw their gun up, off the shelf performance upgrades should not be available? Extra available plenum air a bad idea? The rifles are as good as they will ever need to be? Or, some people don't understand how everything works together as a system and blame the manufacturer when they dont get the results they were after? To make a blanket statement as to (leave well enough alone) leaves only someone to guess what your talking about.

Enjoy it appreciate it because it just may be perfect enough for some folks since its a newly or just recently purchased gun. You gotta get a good feel of your baby before jumping into things like breaking in and enjoying your brand new Corvette before considering a supercharger for it. I have my share of good reliable FX guns that are perfect straight out of their box which I haven't done a single thing to. That's all... YO!

Thank you for your input. I appreciate it. I will definetly use it a bit before i start to tinker. I just tend to read and then i get caught up in the what i can do... lol. My knowledge level is definitely in the bottom of basic right now. So i appreciate all the responses.

Like i said in other posts. My biggest concern was actually (after winning the bid) reading all the posts about FX not being as good as Edguns and Taipans. And i was getting bummed that i may have pulled the trigger on the wrong bullpup, even though it came at a great price.

I personally like it. Just need to put a good scope on it. All i had that i could put on it was a bug buster lol.

Thanks again folks

I have never done a thing to mine, and I love it. I have a Crown .25, Impact ll .30 and the Wildcat .25 and it seems to be my go to gun for walking around the farm. It killed a big fatty squirrel today at 70+ yards no problem. It is light, I can walk around just holding it in my hand pointing barrel down, It is quick to shoulder, and hits solid.

Before you do anything buy a great scope for it, and enjoy. Fan boys always like Their stuff better, and will always tell you that you bought the wrong gun. If you don't like it down the road sell it here on the classified's it will be gone quick.

No, no. So far i like it. So no plans to sell. It has the slug liner and the pellet liner came with it. I may switch at some point to the pellet. I just tend to be tough on my gear. I have ruined many fishing reels going after YFT. In that process i learned that quality comes at a price. I fish Van Staal and Shimano Stella. Why? because even though its performence, they last. Take a beating. Although i would say Van Staal takes more of a beating lol. I just hope the Wildcat holds up to my abuse ( I am not the most balanced and dexterous person on the planet). Tend to trip, hit and bump things as i go through the woods. And my gear falls with me.... At least im honest ..hahah.

Thanks

Hi Angler, you just sounds like me 😃 I do a lot of snook, redfish and tarpon fishing, I submerged plenty of cheaper reels in the salty Gulf of Mexico and dropped the reels on sandy beaches, I found out buying cheap is not the way to go if you, like me, are not careful (i call myself unlucky though).

I also have a new Wildcat, promised myself that it would stay just as it came out of the box... Now three months in I've installed the Huma reg and power plenum 😂. Why? Because I started reading the internet and "decided" my gun was shooting to slow, and so I started to mess with the gun. I developed a slow leak, which I believe was entirely my fault due to me working on something I did not totally understand. I am not mechanically skilled in any way or form, but I did install the reg and plenum with no problems at all. I will have to take it out again and lower the reg pressure (the gun is shooting way to fast). I set the reg at 128bar and I am slinging the 25.4gr at speeds around 1000fps,with the hammer-spring adjuster almost all the way out. Just to clarify, my wildcat is a .25 with a 700mm barrel.

It's a fun process, I learn as I go, I read the threads on here, and I will reach out to Chuck/JoeKool/BigR if the poop really hits the fan, as I sort hold them accountable for me digging into the gun, sorry guys, there you have it 😃😁😂

It’s a benefit to have a set of replacement o-rings for your PCP’s whenever you plan to go into it. On eBay there are full complete sets of o-ring service kits for most newer FX airguns.

Haha. That is awesome. Snook, Reds and Tarpon... Either in SW Florida or the keys is your hangout im guessing. I live in Orlando. Ive slowed down on off shore and YFT. My shoulders can only handle 25-30 lb of drag for so long when i go out. Need to workout more as i age. But i did get a used Hewes Bayfisher, trying to get beck into inshore. But the flounder bite has sucked in central florida for past three years.

yes, thank you. I will definitely get one before i start puttzing with my rifle. Appreciate it.

FX may be taking a hit for a lot of user error but they were just asking for it by all of the temptations available... They should just keep things simple IMHO. YO!

no kidding! streamline was a great out of the box gun! they have added all this tuning ability, and it either confuses a guy who wants a good gun out of the box, or still are not good enough for the tuner! i want a bare bones streamline from 3 years ago. they could sell that gun now without all the adjustability for a great price and sell many. an $800 gun would turn alot of heads.
