FX Wildcat 25 MKII - Huma regulator is here!!

HI Bob!

I have the similar setup! also with the smooth twist X barrel liner, did you add the O-rings on the liner or without them? AEAC`s Steve did not use the O-rings on the liner and got great results.
Ive gotten my Wildcat extremely accurate thanks to CHUCK here!
I suggest you try to turn down the reg pressure to 140bars, im shooting under .4" groups on 50 yards with King Heavy MkII with 140bars and hammer spring adjusted so i get speeds of 827-829 fps.
Today with a little wind i got 0.9" group on 70 yards, and i can easily hit beer cans at 100yards!

You can read my story here on page 10 HUMA REGULATORS VS. FX REGULATORS FOR WILDCAT & STREAMLINE[/QUOTE]https://www.airgunnation.com/topic/...-wildcat-streamline/embed/#?secret=4rgdxsaeg5

Marcus,

Mine is actually shooting very well now at 848 fps.

I've had a few people recommend different settings during this process. Matt Dubber recommended I try the reg at 150 bar for shooting the MKII heavys with ST-X barrel.

I could adjust it down a bit just for the sake of trying it (maybe increase shot count in the process), but it's shooting so nicely now it's more likely that I'll leave it as it is.

Marcus,

I neglected to answer one of the questions you had and that was regarding of the O-rings on the barrel. Yes I do have them installed on the X Barrel liner.

I actually took them off for the regular smooth twist liner when I was diagnosing the pellet spiral issue. But since it turned out that they we're not the cause of the problem I put them back on.

Here are a few pics of that 100-yard Target.
In my video I mentioned that the entire group was less than 1 and 1/2 in.

Turns out that it was just over one and a half for the entire group. Seven of the eight were just a hair over one inch.

But those six in that really small group were only 5/8 inch.

I just wanted to put this out there for accuracy.

Just some observations.

Average velocity was 848fps for both charts. However, the ES and SD was cut in half at the lower reg pressure.

Seems the "system" is more efficient at lower reg pressure and higher HS tension?

This first chart was with ST barrel, Huma set at 155 bar, HS set at 8.25 turns.

This second chart was with ST-X barrel, Huma set at 150 bar, HS set at 8.5 turns.

Hi Bob, Just wondering about whether or not you got to take some 125 yard shots at the farm and if so how it worked out?

Here's a video with two shots an Starlings at 122 yards...closest I could get to 125.

And here's a accuracy test at 100 yards with the 25.4gr pellets.

Bob,

How long did it take for you to recieve your HUMA directly from them? I just ordered one for my son's WC mk II after running it over the chrony last night and seeing the speed low, and the velocity kind of all over the place.

Thanks for the information in this thread (+1 to you, and Chuck!), BTW. I ordered his preset to 150 bar and got the gage also. I plan to leave the factory HS setting where it is initially and see what I get for speed with the HUMA installed.

I will be running ballistics numbers on his gun once I get consistent speeds and will share them with the FX community (like I did on the RAW threads for .25 and .30 cal threads I started). I know the BC's are different for the FX guns than the RAWs.

bob your wildcat first chart is also looking like your AA can you relate them? Do you still think is anything wrong with your AA reg?

Interesting you found this and made a connection. I suppose it could be that the reg pressure and hammer spring tension are not working well together.

I have about 900 pellets through the S510 after today. I'll run another shot string after 1,000 pellets and see if there's any improvement. I don't expect there to be, it's probably as good as it's going to get, which isn't terrible, but can't compare with the Wildcat in the state of tune it was in when I sold it.
