FX Verminator MK2 .177

The Verminator MK2 (NOT the Extreme) is not 30 FPE in .22 and certainly not 24 FPE in .177. The 22 will be 24 FPE and the 177 is 17.5-18 FPE. I used to have one in 177. It was a fun rifle. I sold it because I got away from 177 but, it would get 130 shots before falling off the reg. I had the Huggett put on mine. It was the quietest rifle I've shot to date. Loved the JSB 10.34 gr.

Tnx Craig nice info on the Verminator. I ordered one in .177 with long barrel and quick release system like the Extreme so I guess it will produce a few FPE more but 17-18 FPE is more than enough for me. Maybe I will buy the short barrel later. Good to hear the Verm likes the 10.34 jsb's...my favorite pellet, very accurate and the skirt is not so fragile.
I didn't know you could fill it up to 250 bar, I tought 220 was the max fill pressure. But as I check the shot string ...even if I fill it to 220 it will give me + 100 shots :)
I have the adaptor the put my Huggett silencer on the Verm .

I hope FX can deliver soon

tnx

Jacques

With a regulator in the rifle you can fill to a higher pressure. The valve is what's limiting you to 220 bar. The regulator only allows 140 bar, or whatever the reg is set to, to get to the valve.

Congratulations on getting your Verminator. I ordered a Verminator MK2 .22 cal. back in late November. AOA told me they did not get any in their last shipment in early December. When and where did you ordered yours from. It would be great to hear how your Verminator is performing for you in all aspects like accuracy, function, shot count and so on. Got my fingers crossed in getting mine soon. Thanks Bill

Hi Bill,

I ordered the Verminator at Mundilar : http://www.mundilar.net/en/air-rifles/  in Portugal. I think they are very professional and correct ! Unfortunately I had to wait 2 months because FX has a full order book.
So far I'm satisfied, the gun cocks very smoothly, very nice trigger and good accuracy on full power, medium and low power settings don't group that well ( see pictures ). On full power I got about 8 magazines ( about 128 shots...lost count ). http://s1042.photobucket.com/user/Fatboy58/library/Verminator%20MK2%20%20177?sort=3&page=1

Forgot to say that I have one with a long removable barrel. I have a Hugget silencer ...very quiet.
I would like to know why it isn't grouping on medium and low power...anybody ??

Thanks Jacques for taking the time to answers my questions. I was curious why you choose the FX Verminator and what your uses for it will be. I decided to get the Verminator for rat and pigeon shooting around some farms I pest shoot. Things like the high shot count per fill and adjustable power are great features for a pesting air rifle. Add to the fact that it is fairly compact and light weight is another assert particularly when mounting my ATN X Sight which weighs 2.3 lbs. for night time ratting. Also although I am right handed I have a left dominate eye and therefore shoot left handed. I really like the forward cocking lever position when shooting left handed. It will allow me to maintain head position while holding the pistol grip with my left hand and cocking with my right hand. At the high power setting it will still have plenty of killing power for squirrel and rabbit hunting. That is why I choose the Verminator in .22 caliber. I was wondering too if you have tried shooting your verminator with and without the Huggett moderator. At this time I am finding it hard to spend another $225 US dollars for the Huggett after spending about $1800 for the rifle. Thanks Again Bill

Bill,

Without the Huggett it has a bark, with the Huggett its very quiet. I find that the Weihrauch is as good as the Huggett and much cheaper. It's ideal for pest control, you won't regret it. Did some more shooting and I can't get it to group on power level 2 although the pellet speed is constant. On power level 3 it's very accurate.

Upper left the first 3 targets are 3 x 5 shots on power **, the other 22 are 1 shot/ target on full power. Big difference !
Here's the shotstring on medium power, there's no problem, I wonder what the reason is of the bad grouping. I've tried other pellets ...same result.
