That is the most common place for an 'O' ring failure but you might be lucky and just have some crud affecting the fill valve (it's where crud can get into a rifle, after all).
The fill valve itself is tiny and you should be careful not to damage it (it's easily scratched), on the 'nose' of the valve piston is a tiny 'O' ring which seals the gun after filling, that's the one most likely to need replacing (check the parts list for the smallest 'O' ring).
