A very nice rifle entered my collection today. It's an FX T12 in .177 caliber, the original model with serialnumber 4xxx. So it's one of the first, still with Lothar Walther barrel, not SmoothTwist. It's a pretty light weight piece of barking kit with a simple 3x9/40 scope on it and a 16-shot magazine, made out of plastic. So that confirms also that it's one of the earliest models. Later FX started to use aluminium magazines. I'm going to put a better scope on it, and a silencer, but it shoots quite well I can assure you.
The rifle is extremely easy to maintain. And weighing a little shy over 2KG (4.4 pounds) unscoped, it's a rifle that you can drag along all day in the field. With 25 joules (18.5 ft/lbs) it has enough power to send a squirrel or rabbit into the upper atmosphere, so to speak. One fill is good for 30 accurate shots, so it is a bit inefficient when it comes to air usage, but that's something that's fixable. All and all, a lovely little shooter.
Any more T12 owners here? I would love to hear your experiences.
