Hello AirgunNation Peoples,
Think my FX .22 DreamPup was getting jealous.. Because my Wildcat MKII, MKIII, and Crown all in .25 caliber each have or were upgraded from FX Slug “A” Liners to STX Superior Liners. They all are shooting pellets and slugs very well.
So, the DreamPup was feeling kind of left out with it’s .22 Slug “A” Liner. For a time, .22 caliber STX Superior Liners were nowhere to be found for purchase, but low and behold UA has (maybe now had) them in stock! Long story made short, I purchased and installed a 600mm STX Superior Liner in my DreamPup .22 caliber. Today with a light drizzle of rain, I put three of the pup’s favorite ammo’s on paper @ 50 yards.
(Left to right) JSB Jumbo Monster 25.39 gr. Redesigned, JSB Jumbo Heavy 18.13 gr., NSA 23 gr. HP-FB .217 Slugs
Setup the 50 yard target.
Let her rip!!
The 50 yard 10 shot groups
Two sighter shots with each projectile at the steal gong, then 10 shot groups on the shoot-n-see target.
(10 shot groups left to right) JSB Jumbo Heavy 18.13 gr., NSA 23 gr. HP-FB .217, JSB Jumbo Monster 25.39 gr. Redesigned.
Back indoors with the target and coins (left to right) a dime, a nickel, and a quarter.
Are the FX STX Superior Liners the new all around pellet and slug barrels? For me a big YES! I never adjusted my scope or my aim point for each projectile @ 50 yards (held dead-on flat). The previous slug “A” liner had a different POI for the NSA 23 grains.
The DreamPup’s AMP regulator is set to 130 bar, a upgraded 600mm barrel from the stock 500mm barrel, has the DL plenum, a internal 2 inch aluminum plenum spacer, and it’s hammer spring is shimmed 3mm for more HST compression.
JSB Jumbo Heavy 18.13 gr. Average 960 fps for 36.34 fpe (TP @.25/.30 & HST @ “Level 4”)
NSA 23 gr. HP-FB .217, Average 945 fps for 45.62 fpe (TP @.25/.30 & HST @ “MAX”)
JSB Jumbo Monster 25.39 gr. Redesigned Average 907 fps for 46.39 fpe (TP @.25/.30 & HST @ “MAX”)
I believe I’ve moved on from slug liners and going to use the superior liners in my FX’s for all around slug or pellet shooting!
