FX STX choke question

If you cut the liner you will need to cut and thread the barrel tube and then do the same to the shroud as well so, it's allot of werq. It's difficult to say how it will shoot if you cut off the choke. More than likely it will be more pellet fussy but should shoot more slugs better. Me I never cut off a choke on a barrel unless it is junk at that end to start with. I don't cut my FX barrels down at all as it is so much more werq than cutting a regular barrel.

Barrel reconstruction is not a problem. it is unclear whether it will work properly after the throttle is cut!

I thought the smooth twist barrels start out with no twist and gradually the twist increases and then is the most at the choke area. Trimming off the "working" end will have some real negative consequences.

Smooth twist barrels are like that yes but OP is asking about the X so most likely talking about the liners that are rifled all the way. There was some smooth twist liners at first though.

But yeah should definitely cut from the breech end if he wants the choke still.
