All the FX's I see have the scopes mounted incredibly high. I want to replace an AT44. I have a 40mm scope mounted pretty close to the barrel, about 1 5/8" center to center and would like to do the same on the FX. Can low scope mounts be used and clear the magazine? Anyone that is, do you know the center to center distance?

Aloha Clifton,
I know on my streamline I had to use high mounts to clear the magazine otherwise my scope eye relief would not allow me to see through the scope clearly. The only way to get the scope close to the barrel is by using low mounts and the single shot tray.

On mine I use médium mounts with my 50mm scope, and the magazine is a close fit. I think with low mounts it's not possible.

The top of the magazine is 14 mm from the “top” of the dove tail mount. My SL is .177 cal.
I’m using BKL medium rings and they provide 16.6 mm to top of rail to bottom of scope. The scope is a 40 mm with 52 mm OD in the front. Hope this helps.

This looks close to how mine is. Do you know center of scope to center of barrel?
