FX Smooth twist X Superior barrel with BAD drill markings (22 cal M3)

This is barrel out of my 700MM 22 caliber M3. Drill marks the full length.Would you say it's very bad? I didn't even know it until I cleaned it and too a look down it.

This is a brand new barrel that I just received for an upgrade to my older rifle. All my other FX barrels (5) look great.

Both barrels have the same ID tag on them.

What should I do with it? Send it to the dealer or FX USA?

Look at that first picture , see all the rings . Wonder how quickly it would lead up with all that . I would give FXUSA a call and send them a better picture . For that kind of money I wouldn't be content with that one .

Liners are made with tubing. Not drilled like a conventional barrel.

Yeah get that returned to FX. Definitely will cause havock on accuracy I'd bet.

Those are "pressed" from the outside & not "drilled" but, still defective.

Aren't the tubes drilled and then the rifling is applied from the outside?

I'm guessing something went awry when the tube was reamed. Look close and you can see the rifling is pressed into the spiral ring ridges.They are ring ridges, not grooves.

The ring ridges appear to be about 1/4 separation from each other.

Have you cleaned the barrel? It can be protective oil, or grease you are seeing. I know mine looks like that after a clean with wet ballistol patches. It then dissapers when the patches come out dry

We have seen this on a VERY few amount of barrels over the years, probably originally an issue with the raw metal stock before FX receives it, and then as you said it shoots well so it goes unnoticed. We will be glad to replace it if you would like.
