Just put my new FX Royale 500 through the chrony. 82 shots. That's right, 82 shots, and it's not regulated!! Can that be right? Hi 888 Lo 873 ES 15 SD 3. Those are awesome numbers, especially the total shot count.
Ugh that's a bummer about the dropbox. That sounds like a really interesting group to see a pic of. 90 shots, how large was the group ctc? How much smaller was it not counting the last few shots that dropped due to low pressure?"SDellinger"CAN'T GET DROPBOX TO WORK FOR ME!
Shot this target with my FX 500 with JSB Kings a few years ago. Non regulated. That's 90 shots at 40yards. The last 5 or 6 were just out of the group low but not much. I am afraid to change anything on this gun. Have fun, Scott
Awesome groupings! Great consistency over 90 shots! I did something similar with my first Royale 500. It was only 40 shots but it was at 50 yards, benched on sand bags in perfect conditions. This target is probably 2 years old at this point. I'm hoping the new Royale that I have will be just as accurate but I haven't had a lot of time to shoot it yet with the windy conditions here in the northeast. Congrats on an awesome shooter to both of you!

Man, if indeed it's unregulated I wouldn't touch a thing. My 500 gets 40 shots at 2% ES and under at 902 average. That's shooting in my sweet spot of a fill at 200 down to 160. It's a tack driver though. Seriously thinking of getting AOA to regulate it though. As far as I know they are the only ones doing it. I have seen the regulated guns get the 70-80 shot strings. I could really blow through some pellets then.

"chasdicapua"Strikey, I was using the Kings. This is why I got it unregulated, so I can work with the hammer spring and get the speed up so that it would shoot the heavies as well as the Kings. Once I find the sweet spot of FPS for accuracy with both the Kings and Heavies, and have a reasonable shot count, I'll have it regulated at that power.
If your rifle is unregulated then those numbers are an excellent result, perhaps you got a good one, nah, all the 500's are good, lol. I have only had one more day at the range with mine and it was easy to get groups at 50yds with the Kings & Heavy Kings ( Mk1 ) that hovered around the 1/2 inch mark but out at 100yds was a different story, there was a sneaky switching breeze and I need to brush up on my wind reading but overall I was happy with the results. I will be interested to see what velocity you find is the sweet spot for the King Heavies, I am trying to get organised for our State air rifle titles shortly so won't have a chance to play with the 500 for a little while.
I was going to try to shoot this morning before work but breezy here as well. Thanks for taking the time to share your results, I'm looking forward to seeing your groups."Keith2324"I planned on shooting a group today but the winds here in central FL are currently running 15 + mph constantly. Not a good day to try and shoot groups at any distance. Hopefully I'll have better luck tomorrow. I won't chrony the gun but I know it has an average fps of 901. I'll shoot at 40 yards and also annotate the pressure level after every magazine (11 shots). I'll also start at a pressure of 230 bar.
Keith.
Were the conditions calm when you were shooting? Shooting bench rested off sand bags?"Keith2324"As promised, here are the results from my quick target test today. I shot 9 magazines (99 shots). Here are the bar readings after each mag:
Unregulated FX Royale 500 shooting JSB 25.4's.
Started at 230 bar
Mag 1...215
Mag 2...205
Mag 3...195
Mag 4...185
Mag 5...175
Mag 6...162
Mag 7...150
Mag 8...140
Mag 9...125
Here are a few pics. As you will see, my POA was the diameter of a dime. I held under 3 mildots so that my target would not get obscured. I did have a few shots that I pulled and/or had bad pellets but that's no excuse. But 5 shots out of 99 isn't too bad. Please give me a little slack on that. If you have any questions let me know.
Keith.
