FX Removable Harmonic Barrel Tuner on an FX Dreamline Tactical (bottle version)

Has anyone tested the FX removable harmonic barrel tuner on an FX Dream-Tac? The barrel needs to bear a significant extra weight (~190 g), and that makes me… nervous.

I assume that using this tuner on a Dream-Tac is not even an option if the carbon fibre sleeve hasn’t been installed to stiffen the liner.

(mine is a 25 cal with a 600 mm barrel)

Had 1 on a maverick with 500 mm barrel in 177. Had the barrel tensioned with the shroud. If I moved the tuner all the way forward @ 10 meters it shot 3/8” right of original poi at the mid point shot 3/8 low and all the way to the rear shot 3/8 left of original poi. Don’t see a reason for you not to try it

On a Maverick, don't you have much more barrel support than on a Dreamline? 

Are you not using it anymore? Didn't get tighter groups with it?

Yes there is more support. I was using it with an fx barrel and slugs. Put a lw barrel in for slugs and don’t need it with that. Shooting 177 pellets I haven’t had a chance to try it and really don’t think I will need int but I will be testing it at 100yds in 22&25 Cals when it warms up a bit

I've experimented with it on a 320mm Dreamline barrel shooting benchrest fine. A lower POI for sure, but it worked just like on other barrels I have tried it on. Ultimately, on a 320mm(compact gun) barrel, I decided to go with a lighter(FX empty can) moderator for use as a field gun. 

At a weight of approx 7 ounces(plus weight of moderator), I believe this was designed for use to get ultimate accuracy while shooting benchrest and not carrying around in the field. As such, it works fine on any barrel to "dial in" or fine tune an already accurate setup on barrels of any length or rigidity.

I shoot a .177 dreamline and prefer to not add anything. Barrel indexing and adding the cf liner helped the most.

Thanks for the answers. I'll likely give this FX harmonic barrel tuner a try, as I really like the concept "tune regulator pressure and HST for low ES at desired velocity; and then tune barrel harmonics for tight(er) groups".
