I want one, but presently own a shooting chrony, so I will wait until the FX model comes down to a more reasonable price level. The ease of setup is a big plus... but not at the present price... post up your thoughts on yours when you get it.

I would love to have one also. I also own a chrony. I think that the new FX chronograph is nice but way over priced for what it is. So I will keep what I got.

I own the same chrony but marketed by a different company, i bought for airsoft guns. The fx app connects but says incorrect firmware. The device is the same, i believe, and the app developer definitely is. Would it be possible to pay fx to get the firmware?

Or better yet, have the dev update the app so that for a fee in app that would end up going to fx, a person could "unlock" a potentially compatible device to be able to work. This would preserve your IP and revenue but also allow those with the same device to expand its capabilities without buying a whole second unit. The unit i have is from a company called carbon that does paintball stuff.

Just a hopeful suggestion.

I got that little Chinese infrared unit from Ali Express. 30.00 and it is quite accurate. It doesn't have an app associated with it or anything fancy like that but it does the job of capturing pellet speed like a champ.

I'd like the FX unit if it could be bought for about 60-80 bucks. 200 ain't gonna happen though.

I ordered one from SPAW. I'm just tired of setting up the optical. I had a LabRadar, but it only worked for me at the range. The metal shed in back of my 25 meter range, and all the trees made it unusable at home.

The FX looks to address all my issues.

I pre-ordered mine through UA and I can't wait. Using a regular chrony was a frustrating PITA, so much so that I didn't want to tune my guns. I think $200 is a fair price when you are getting the tech of a Lab Radar in a compact form and at close to the price of the outdated chronograph.

I agree with there saying it's over price. Here are many chrony, even airsoft chrony works for airgun that cost $40-60. So putting it in the $200 range is a bit up there. Should be max at $99. I don't think it's worth the price. I will wait till it comes down to under $99. Cause I have a alpha shooting chrony already so I can wait

Actually the FX Chronograph and the Carbon paintball chronograph are not the same unit. Long story short, we essentially collaborated with that manufacturer, worked with them, beefed up the internals so it would handle PCP airguns, improved it, and perfected it. The older paintball unit just isn't the same (which is why you haven't seen guys really use them the last couple of years since they have been out). Hope that clears things up a bit
