Yeah.. The Netherlands certainly has the most indoor ranges for airguns in the whole world, I think. The whole airgun hobby is really far ahead in there. Facilities, competitions etc.

FX Panther no-hype review and tests

I got to shoot my Panthera 700 for the first time yesterday and was pretty happy with the results. Seems to jive with what a lot of other guys are seeing.
Only had enough time for a couple mags and this was at my buddy's place shooting from a small wobbly bench at an angle. Reg @ 125bar, 34gr Javelin Gen2 @ 920fps.

One six (left) and one eight (right) shot group at 100Y with .25 Panther 600mm and Altaros 49.5 grain at 885 fps (86 fpe). Arken EP-4 6-24x scope. Outdoors. I was going to say “windy”, but with a BC of 0.21, what wind?

135 bar. Macro 21. Micro 3.5. It’ll shoot them faster but the gun doesn’t sound right. Plus 86 FPE with .25 caliber in 600mm is pretty high as is….

Glad you posted your settings as tuning the Panthera, although not too difficult, leaves a lot of room and many variations to achieve similar results. Also, was on the fence about the Altaros slugs but with your results I can see ordering them now or even some of the boat tails like Griffin produces. Did you order the Altaros in the US or from across the pond?

Another test of FX Panthera and my 40gr slugs. Their original caliber is 5.555mm. I have resized them to 5,55 5,54 5,53 5,525 5,52 5,51 5,50 5,49 and made 20 shots each to 100 yards distance. The barrel was cleaned after every 20 shots to have all sizes in equal conditions. The results are very unambiguous. My barrel (STX Superior Heavy 1:16) definitely likes 5,525mm caliber.

I have shot the strangest group ever yesterday at 100yards with the panthera.
Someone called it the biggus dickus..
Anyway, we are getting better results by the week. We have won the first and third place at 100y benchrest two weeks back with the panthera's.
Both .22/700, shooting H&N .218 34gr at 985fps.
