Tuning Fx maverick sniper 22caliber tunes

All of my tunes are for a superior heavy barrel, but.. It shoots everything from 24.8 gr up pretty darn well in .218. My favorite tune is the 31.2 grain NSA slugs in .218. I shoot them around 970 fps. That is with the second reg around 155 bar and a little under the "knee". I can also dial the power wheel down to adjust or 1 and shoot the 24.8 grain at 850 fps for a darn solid house pest tune with no other changes. I never even shot my 700mm standard superior barrel. It has been sitting on a shelf since the day it arrived, because I had the superior heavy waiting :D

do you the slug power kit installed?

I guess you could say that. I do have a pin probe and heavier hammer weight, but they are ones I made. If you want to run slugs of any weight, the slug power kit is a must have.
I have the slug power kit in mine too and the 700mm heavy liner and I am shooting NSA 31.2 and 28.5 in .217 and they’re not grouping to good at 20 yards because that’s as far as I can shoot here at home so I’m not even trying at 50 and 100 if they’re not stacking at 20.

Have you tried .218? My heavy liner happens to prefer .218 over .217, and its very noticeable between the two. Other than sizing, I'd make sure the probe is set to the maximum length to allow the magazine to clear, make sure there are no clipping issues with the moderator. It could be a matter of harmonics or something not snugged in the barrel/liner as well. It's hard to say without more info on what you've tried and what speed you're shooting.

My 700mm heavy liner likes 27.5gr, .2175" NSA slugs, 150-115 on the regs and 7 on the power wheel with 6 turns out on the IHS. They seem to do well at 100y.

OK here's one for pellet shooters..22 VP with 11g hammer, PW7 , reg at 110 bar, slug port,.

The last 4 were at 1018 , I should have kept going. Lol

OK the same reg pressure gets you shooting 21g Baracudas at 900fps on PW7
PW3 pushes CHPs 14.3g at 880 fps
PW5 gets 18g Airboss pellets to 905 fps

I'm beginning to focus on its versatility.

Cool!

What's the first reg pressure? I'm running 115 on the second with CPHP's, I really like that 1020 speed!

Its probably around 140-150 on the first. The 11g hammer really helped getting the heavier pellets up to speed. I still need to do some accuracy testing with chps at higher velocity but they were looking good on the steel targets i was shooting .

I now ordered 31.2 grain NSA in .2165 .217 .2175 .218 and I’m shooting them from 880-990 but it’s not very consistent I’m getting a spread of 20-30fps and the groups are also not consistent with either size, the regulator pressure is consistent bought a digital pressure gauge and I have them at 180-153 not sure what the problem is.

Your speeds are too low for the reg pressure you have. At those reg pressures, you should be able to do around 950-970 fps with the 31.2. If you shoot well below where the reg settings are capable of, you'll have a larger spread on the speeds. Speaking of, I've had the best luck with slugs in the 950+fps range. Try adjusting your micro adjustment up(CW) to bring your speed up to match those reg pressures. Or, you could switch to lighter 24.8 grain and drop your reg pressures to the 160/120 bar range to get them in the 950+fps range. Basically, you want to adjust the micro adjustment on the gun to where the speed is 5-10 fps below the max speed possible at any given regulator setting with the power wheel on 7.

I tried some chps at 50 yards and they liked speeds around 920 fps. At 880 the group opened up.

It's not the best groups but for chps at 50y it's not bad. We should have a CHPs contest at 50. My Urban and Taipan didn't like them at 50 .
