FX Maverick cocking problem

I got my first PCP, FX Maverick .25 recently and i have shot about 350 shots throught it and some times it haves cocking problem. Gun just won't cock and If i change Power wheel setting from 7 to 6 and Back to 7 it helps for that. Internal hammer spring setting is about 3mm out so that shouldnt be a issue? That problem is random and doesnt happen all time. I see that cocking lever piece that is attached to rod seems to hit to frame piece when lever is pulled back when cocking the rifle is that normal? all bolts and screws are tight and probe seems to be on right place. Pellet speeds are about 940fps PW7 with H&N barracuda Hunter Extreme 28.24gr pellets second reg pressure is 100 bar pellet speeds are quite stable spread is around 10fps with full magazine.

If your IHS is only out 3mm I would check to see if the linkage between the cocking lever and operating rod is slipping. Those two little set screws are notorious for loosening and allowing the linkage to slip. They need blue locktite to make sure they stay tight.
you can back out those two screws and allow the linkage to move and should be able to see where the screws were positioned originally. Make sure you set it back so the screw positions match those marks. And use blue locktite on the screws.

I checked those screws and those are tight so i assume that isnt problem? Is there any measurements to check is that position right?

I'd contact where you got it to document in an email chain the issue so easier to send in earlier than not. What speeds you getting off of what pellet weights? Looking at a .25 too. Know the shot count at power 7? Thanks,

Yeah i called to that place today and they were confused also. We decided to keep looking for that issue and i will contact to seller if it goes worse or i find where that issue truely are, it is so rare issue that i dont want to send it back for fix yet, i want to try to fix it on myself first. I can definetly higly recommend this rifle anyway. My rifle is .25 VP version with 700mm barrel. It shoots H&N 28.24 grain Barracuda Hunter Extreme pellets 940FPS on Power wheel 7, 2reg Set to 100bar. I havent counted shot count but easily over 70 until pressure goes from 230bar to below 100 bar and that is with 400cc bottle. I had originally ligher hammer( i think that was around 9 grams) installer but shop sent gun to me with heavier hammer(11.5gram) that should be on .25 cal guns. My results are with that heavier hammer.

This could very well be your problem. My Maverick had the same problem and adjusting the rod length solved the cocking problem. I can't remember what the measurement is, or, if I just pre-loaded the rod a bit until the cocking was smooth. @Bigragu helped me with this problem back a couple years ago and suggested replacing the small grub screws with some SS star-bit grubs that really lock down the cocking rod. Never had a problem after the fix.

SSomewhere on YouTube I believe it is the Maverick reassembly video with Ernest Rowe, dimensions are provided for the cocking mechanism.
I have done it a couple times and the dimension is critical and very little room for error.

Problem found and is solved now. Issue was on that little piece where cocking lever attaches to rod. Screws was tight but position was wrong. That piece must be on correct position and If its even little wrong you cant cock and the gun or loose pellet speed or speed spread is huge. I found video from YouTube, where guy from FX told how to find correct position. To do that you must remove your cheek piece and now pull cocking lever back until you can fit right allen key to pellet probes allen screw, when key is placed you can open those two little scews from cocking rod until piece is moving freely. Now push pellet probe up front with that Allen key you placed earlier so far front as you can and hold it there, now you can tighten those two little scews to cocking rod and placement is where it should be.

Pop off the cheek rest, there is a hole just behind the magazine well, with the cocking handle forward, the screw in the hole should be half way or slightly forward. If not. Check to make sure the screw is snug, then slightly loosen and adjust the cocking block on the shaft. You 'may' have to slightly push the probe forward a touch. Tighten the cocking block, carefully. When adjusted remove one screw, use some Locktite blue or purple on the threads, screw it in firmly, then repeat on the second one. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN, bad things happen, just VERY SNUG. NOTE: having the HSA screw out too far will cause issues too. Start at about 19.3mm overall and see what gives, from my experience 21mm or so will create a problem.
