FX Fx maverick 25 compact NSA Slugs

I picked up a FX maverick 25cal compact a few years ago. I added a sekhmet digital gauge for tuning. I did the AEAC pro tune with regs at 115/90 and powerwheel 7. The gun shot awesome groups with 25.39 jsb and was crazy consistent at 885fps with a SD well under 2. I use the gun for pretty much just hunting. I have a few dairy farms that I pest and this thing has piled up plenty of pigeons, starlings, house sparrows and ground hogs. I bought this gun to mainly shoot slugs though.
I have a few boxes of the 26gr FX hybrid slugs. I bumped the regs up to 130/100 and was able to push them to 900fps but the accuracy at 50yards left a lot to be desired. On power wheel 7 it pushes the 25.39 jsb at 925. On 6 was 905 and 5 was 860. MK2 heavies were about 832.
Has anybody tried the NSA 26.8gr out of the maverick compact? I know I probably need to bump up the reg pressures to get a little more velocity but I don't want to buy 1000 of these to have them shoot like garbage.

I had little luck with the nsa 26 gr. I shot one decent group with them at 50. Moved the internal adjuster an 1/8-1/4 and it went to hell. Never could find that spot again in the short effort I gave it. The 25 cal compact is a picky mofo with slugs. Wasn’t worth the hassle to me. The pellet performance always blew the slugs out of the water and did fine within the compacts range.

I tried to shoot several different slugs out of my Maverick Compact 25. The NSA’s did not fare well at all. But then again, nothing really shot what I thought was acceptable accuracy. Even Hybrids were not satisfactory to me. Finally decided it was a compact and as such it would be a pellet shooter.
It is very accurate with FX 25.4’s so I returned it to the tune and have been a happy a per since.

I’m not a Maverick guy but I am a 33.95 guy. I was shooting them out of a 600mm superior on my RTI and I tuned two FX Impacts for them when I sold them. For me, no slug is competing with them out to 100 or so. They are always on the money and hit very hard. I would try to get them going 870-880fps initially. See how hard you’re pushing the gun and how they do. If you’re not satisfied and your gun still has some gas left in the tank, you can work your way up to 920 fps. I never had to go higher than that with a 600mm barrel. My Prophet 2 will hit a 1.25” spinner almost every time at 119 yards. At 135 yards that kind of accuracy is gone but who cares when I could literally shoot sparrows at 115 all day long. They are shooting 900fps. Weigh them, put them in groups, and you’ll be able to use all of them. You just might have to make a click or two adjustment when you switch to a different weight group.
