FX Maverick .22 vp FAC tuning

Apologies if this is already posted 100 times on here, but I couldn't find much help.

Hi, I'm very new to the maverick and to air gun nation so HI!

I'm struggling for an initial set up for my maverick. I want to shoot 18 grain pellets at 50 -100 yards.
The way the gun is out the box is way too powerful.
Is there a rough reg set up to start at? Any help with this would be greatly received.

Did you try turning down the power wheel on the rear of the airgun . 1-7 , 7 is the most power.

Do you have a chronograph? It's needed to tune a pcp.

Do not lower reg pressure without emptying all the pressure from the airgun and have removed the bottle.

Do not adjust reg pressure until you have a complete understanding of the correct way to adjust reg pressures. Plenty of videos on this and threads.

Do not turn your power wheel when the gun is cocked.

I would start with the second reg at 70-75 bar. If this makes no sense, you have some reading to do.

Hi, thanks I've watched alot of videos on YouTube for adjusting the regs and now know how to do it correctly. I've not chronograph the gun yet but its currently running at 170 at the front and 150 at the back. Seems way too much power for the pellet
Yeah you’ll want to be under or near 100 bar if you want to shoot 25.39 grain .22 JSBs fairly well out to 100. Honestly, just get into slugs. You have a slug capable rifle. 23 grain Nielsens cost about the same or less as a tin of 25.39 .22s. More forgiving in the wind

Try .216 or .2165

Your groups at 100 yards will be much tighter with slugs. The 25 grains get pushed around a lot at 100 yards. They are a 75 yard and under projectile (in windy conditions) in my opinion.
