FX FX Leopard Question

Interested in a FX Leopard .22 cal USA.
700mm Bottle .22 version

Will the Leopard shoot light pellets 18-22grain as smoothly and quietly as the M3?
Or is it ment for higher FPE with heavier slugs?

I have the standard .177 (600 mm barrel) on order, and asked the same question, just to be sure. The supplier confirmed what udabegger says. The Leopard handles slugs, but also lighter pellets when adjusting the power (and of course a higher shot count pr fill with light pellets).

after a bit more research, i believe that the 500 has a light pellet barrel, the 600 and 700mm versions come with a heavy slug barrel. Hence the 600mm and 700mm may require installation of the light pellet barrel for pellets of course?

Newman at Cape Fear Airguns told me that the 600 mm barrel will shoot 18 grain pellets lights out.It should be fine.

The heavy liner can shoot pellets well, but you will likely have to go to heavier options and spend some time finding the right ones. Also as far as noise, no the Leopard will be much louder since it does not have a functional shroud like the Impacts and other older FXs do.

I think it would come down to purpose of use for me. If the main goal is to shoot 18 gr or really pellets in general I would not choose the 700 mm. I suppose it probably will do it but will need to be turned down a lot as they produce big power. If the liner is the only concern I suppose that can easily be remedied with just changing it to a standard one.

I wonder how "easily" the barrels could be swapped when you are looking at airtube over barrel and a lot of seals along the way I am sure. Still considering a Leopard Standard Tube in .22 so these conversations interest me.

Yeah I’m not sure. I know just a liner change is really easy in the dynamic platform. I would think the leopard would be similar but not positive

I'd like to start swaging my own ammunition so that means slugs, not pellets. I have a couple of .22 caliber slug capable airguns but I'm casually considering a .25/700mm Leopard for that duty.

Part of the reason for a 700mm barrel is that I have an Impact, Panthera, and a couple of barrel liners that may end up in the Leopard if I decide to go back to my preferred (.22) caliber.

I'm generally happy with the power and performance of my .22 airguns, I'm just curious what a .25 would do for me. My shoot range has 55 and 128 yards lanes, think the .25 is probably the all around best compromise caliber for longer range shooting.
