Anyone have a King or other laminate stock that smells funny? I just received mine and it really has a bad smell. Reminds me of Romano cheese

That sucks. You could take the rifle out of the stock and put the stock outdoors in a safe place out of direct sunlight for a few days and see if it goes away.

Yes, most likely it is the smell of “freshness”. This is bad. But direct sunlight will help.
The main thing is that the size does not go away and the rifle falls into place.

I was expecting the post to be about performance when I read the title. I have two GRS stocks and they didnt smell weird. Hopefully the smell goes away as it gets aired out.

Sniff around! Certain plastics/synthetics can have an odor that should dissipate with time.

I remember an episode of The Little Rascals where they smeared limburger cheese on something or someone.
I also heard of people coating the heat exchanger on the furnace of an apartment they were getting kicked out of. There’s no getting rid of that smell.

When I was young my parents, Aunts and Uncles used to threaten us kids with Limburger cheese, when we misbehaved. Just smelling that stuff would straighten us right out.

It's new, I bought it from Utah Airguns. I've wiped it down with Clorox wipes and it helped a little.Did you buy it used? If so, maybe it's just the cheek rest

Made it by my local shop. Told the owner about this post and without hesitation, he agreed. The stock is a bit cheesy.

Ahh, OK. Just sayin', I bought one from the classifieds and the foam cheek rest had the aroma of Old Spice.

Back to the basics, other than eye candy, what good are the GRS stocks? I had one on an Anschutz rimfire and other than the extra weight, it did not help with shooting accuracy. So the stock has an adjustable cheekpiece and buttplate: so do others.

I love the way mine fits me. It either works for you or not. Probably something you should try before you buy. I got lucky with the fit.
