FX Impact X vs Wildcat MK2 30 cal

I don't think either have enough power for slugs unless you Modify them , I had 2 impacts in 30 and I have a wildcat ,I think for $1300 the wildcat is a better buy ,

I love wildcat to carry it is light and quick to shoulder ,I am not a fan of the impact for .30 caliber , even the .25 cal does not have the power it needs for heavy slugs I have not tried the latest regulators maybe they will give it a boost ,

I am not sure of power of the wildcat in 30 cal , I seriously think it will be under powered ,especially with slugs ,unless it gets modded

I had same issues with .30 impact it was great with pellets but no power for slugs . but even with pellets gun had to be maxed and could of used more power

You are basically paying extra for more shot count , bigger magazines .

what do you plan on doing with either gun ? like if it was a hunting gun in thick stuff id get wildcat , if i needed 100 shots per fill Id get impact

I like the wildcat in 22 only and crown and impact same

Both are great guns and once tuned with the right pellet they can both be equally accurate out past 100 yrds. You may notice more impacts at the extreme bench rest. Could be because they are set up to tune more easily and larger air capacity. The impact also has a power selector with 1.2.3.4.5.max and you can pack an extra air bottle to take along if so desired. Factory tuned for the .25gr kings it shoots them around 900fps and you can get around 70 shots per fill before falling off the reg. I am just assuming other than shot count they would compare similarly in .30 cal. BTW Huma has a couple regs for the impact including a hi power version.

What do I really get for an extra $700 with the Impact?

👍

You may also consider the Bobcat in 30 if a bullpup is need or a Boss for a traditional rifle. I had ZERO issues with them over the years.

My Wildcats (So-Far knock on wood) have been trouble free but I don't shoot them much but agree they are pleasant to shoot and I especially like their triggers.

I have to add that unless you plan on using a 30 for hunting purposes target shooting at extended 100+ yards or you just want to literally blow up your small critters at closer distances, the 25 could serve your purposes just fine because the 30 ammo are a lot more costly and air consumption is much higher in that caliber IMHO. 30 is not quite enough oomph for larger game for which a .357 would be a better choice if thats the plan.

IMHO the 30 is like a new 20 if that makes any sense at all...

I have to say tho, the 30 literally makes birds EXPLODE at 100 yards.

Both the Impact and the Wildcat are at best 75 FPE max

The Texan 30 , shoots a 154 slug at 940FPS which is 320FPE so the .308 is a very long range shooter and accurate to kill well past 500m

The FX are pellet guns at best with 44 gr ammo ,If you could chamber a Hunter supply 154 gr the FX would push it at 450 fps lol

They are a hi Powered .22 or a mid power .25 , they are under powered at .25 slug and .30 cal slugs
