I have a 700mm 30 cal coming. 

I would like to buy a 700mm 25 cal barrel also. 

Do I need to buy the complete barrel kit or only the liner?

I know I will need the 25 cal magazine also.

The transfer port (going from 30 to 25) is prob much less of an issue than the fitment of the diff cal. liner. The .25 liner will have a smaller OD than the .30 and will prob need the barrel and seat to the brass fitting, to match. UA can confirm/deny. They talked me out of trying a .22 liner in a .25 barrel.

TP, less of an issue? IME is a big issue. For example if you do that in 0.25 barrel using a 0.22 liner, most of your pellets will get stuck in the brass transfer port since is too big (they will fell in the tp), been unable to put the pellet in the right place and cock the gun. I have done it... from .30 to .25 .. donno I have not try but probably the same.

Beside what you mention on the liner fit.

Good point, and I skipped that. The brass fitting would be sized for the .30 in this case, that's to big for a .25 even if you could fit a .25 liner. Even then there wouldn't be a smooth transition from the barrel fitting to the liner of a different size.

I didn't explain the my TP comment well. A larger TP alone (as long as the pellet doesn't get hung up) isn't the biggest issue here, I meant that to be more general. The gun can be adjusted for power, not the barrel fitting for cal. I assumed too much when posting earlier.

Wish they made it as simple as changing the liner. But no. Liner must be same cal. You only need the liner if you want to switch from pellet to slug. If you want to change cal. You need to pay the $400 to change cal. That's why I only stick to one cal and save money. Also don't have to keep changing barrel and probe and rezero. Just get the cal you want and stock with it.
