FX FX Impact upgraded valve rod 2025

I recently had to order a new valve rod for my FX Impact. I purchased it from EuropeAirguns and received it today.


The valve rod appears to be a significant upgrade compared to the one that was in my impact. I’m not sure why the design has changed, but it looks like it should be able to handle more pressure for heavy slugs.

After installing it, I noticed no difference in performance for my tune. The only change I observed is during installation of the hammer seat: normally, you screw it onto the valve rod, push it into the block, and measure 6 mm from the block to the end of the hammer seat. With this new valve rod, that distance is now roughly 5 mm.

Today, you guys lucky and happy....you can buy upgrade parts off the shelfs.
Not back in early days, we had to fabricate diy:

I have couple "custom FX" parts from EuropeAirguns that nobody else selling.
This makes me think this is a EA own design and fabrication.
For example the one on right:

Looks like the valve is made of Peek now. That is great. We have done to this in our Impact for years.

I had my external plenum aswell before the first generation powerplenums. Only way was to make it or at a later stage getting one from Ernest

The valve rod I bought is an official FX part.

How long have you been tuning Impacts?

I have my Impact MK2 since surfaced and I was a only mechanic on learning curve.
This Impact made through major performance updates mostly diy machined parts, I don't know how to call revisions now, MK3.7 or NK4.2 ?
Only the action block is the original but also modded, can't confirm anymore what internals from where, but I kept the originals in my drawers for don't ask me what reason
