Fx impact slug magazine problems

Has anyone else had that issue where the slugs tip over in the mag while working itiin to the rifle or even handling the rifle? It's pretty frustrating i have a .30 cal FX impact using NSA 49grain slugs... any slug friendly magazines out there any suggestions for me? I'm new to slugs. Thanks. airhunterabe

I also have the Impact in .30 cal. and I've used the 49, the 54.5 with no problems just loading 5 slugs at a time. I am currently using the 61.5 grainers and they fit perfect. You just can't load the whole magazine. Too much weight for the spring to load them properly. The 49.5 grainers fit perfect in the older magazine.

I have the same problem with my 22 and 30 impact using light slugs from NSA. If you want to shoot light slugs try Griffin slugs, I've tried down to 33gr's and they stay upright. All griffin slugs are taller weight to weight with NSA mainly because the shape of the nose and base configuration. The NSA 49.5 stay upright MOST of the time, but nothing sucks more than having to unload an entire side shot mag just to fix ONE side ways slug. Seems like a problem with way the mags are made, probably designed around pellets naturally tall hollow base and weight saving skirts/waist; which slugs don't have

Yes 49.5 don't tip over like the 47 grain and 43 grain.

Can't you just add more tension to the spring by A- replacing the OEM spring with a larger diameter wound spring or B- relocate the anchor point of the OEM spring to extend the wind up and drill another tiny hole? I have done them to other brands of magazines before used specifically for heavy slugs as well as pellets. YO!

Spring is not a problem on mine...... The main problem is slugs tip over while in the magazine... The locating diameters seam a bit large they move around to much so they just tip over.. and this is a FX magazine.

I’ve had the same problem with FX hi capacity magazines in .25 29gr and .30 43 gr slugs.

Get the Orion inserts if you want to play with slugs in the FX mags. I had the same issues with both my .22 and .25 cal impact. The Orion inserts are less shots per mag but a way better design that holds slugs better and the cutouts are deeper to prevent the slugs from rolling all around in the FX mags.
