Fx impact power upgrade?

I too called fx and they will no longer sell the the hp kit, period, only the derlin washer for the c3 bumper and the titanium valve seat, that's it...if u want more power, gonna have to do it yourself, a ton of info on here to do that....

OK, but I’m the first one to admit that i’m not capable of doing those tuning mods myself. I can take it apart & do a rebuild, but the Dremel stays in its case!

And yep, if someone would start to produce High power kits, i would defo be interested in buying one, once it has proven it reliability. Safety first. I had contact with FX Sweden about a .30/700mm slug liner. They told me that it would be available this year.

So that’s the reason i wanted to buy something like the ER high power kit. I also have a .25 Crown with slug liner. I use it for rat-pest control. I’m talking about muskrats here. Them suckers are as big as a cat, and a .25 hollow point, doesn’t kill them with one shot.

A Hatsan Hercules .30 does the job fine, but that thing is loud and heavy as hell! The power on that thing is amazing! Accuracy is a different story.

So that’s the main reason i ordered an impact mk2 .30. Only mod i did on the Crown is a Huma regulator. And that’s also the first thing I’ll do on the new impact. Great stuff!

Cheers.

Several months back I sent my Impact .30 to Ernest for a power upgrade.

After two sessions at the range it developed a pretty bad leak.

I sent it back to FX under warranty.

Asked for the MKII upgrade

Just got it back yesterday.

Cost me $203.99 and I already had the side shot and wika gauges. So for the MKII valvehousing, valve tube, reloading block and $100 in labor it was $204. I griped about the $100 since they should have already been in there fixing the leak and got the 'too bad, is what it is' response.

They sent with it a fps chart w/ 16 rounds. 972 to 963 w/ an es of 9 on a 44.75 pellet. I have to go fire up the laptop and dl the last crony results I had, but if memory serves, it was going faster before the MKII upgrade. They have the reg at 145bar now, where before it was at 140bar.

Something tells me that whatever magic juice that Ernest did had it running faster at less pressure than the stock MKII does. I'm going to try to get my old parts back.

To be honest, this is why I don't do the upgrades to older guns that change fundamental design elements like the size of the air plenum or valving, unless I do it myself and understand the limits of what's happening.

I'm too OCD to put up with sending it in, and hoping it'll come back with a couple extra FPS at a lower reg pressure. Most of the time, I'll just save my pennies and buy the upgraded product nice and shiny from the factory. Way to OCD to go through the stress of sending it back, arguing with the folks that put it together, trying to remember how it was setup. Too much stress.

I wish you luck on this one. I've been happy with my experience with FX, but custom work is a whole 'nother ball game!

That’s weird! But it’s clear that FX & E.Rowe only provide the “good”stuff to either champion shooters or well known youtube airgunners with a few K followers.

The average person will never get them parts. And they’ll start talking about warranty-loss. But looking at videos, and reading topics on this great forum, you guy’s in the US are very lucky compared to European FX owners. For example the impact mk2 is available from September 2019 overhere, while this gun is almost an oldtimer in the US. Sold by the thousands. I do understand that the US-market is way bigger than the rest of the world, but FX being a Swedish/European company, shouldn’t threat us lijke sh**!!

The word “service” has a totally different meaning in Europe. You guy’s GET service from FX USA. And FX Europe and “warranty” are a joke!

So if one of you guy’s can supply a high power kit for the impact .30 mk2, and it has proven it’s safety, i will defo try to buy one.

Because if it should create an air leak after a while, it makes no difference on the FX Sweden “warranty”. Needed to pay for 2 leaks on a 4 months old Crown!

So by the time i get my impact mk2, FX will start talking about the new upgrades on the impact, according Matt Dubber. mk3 maybe? No idea, but it was a very cold shower hearing that in his video. And canceling the order has no use, coz it will be the same story. Available @the beginning of 2020 in the US, and END 2020 in Europe.

Sorry for the long “nagging”, but it’s not pleasant to see airgunners shooting the mk2 for about 6 months now, made even better with aftermarket parts, and me, waiting for the first batch to arrive in Europe.

Cheers

No need to ship your guns back for an air leak. Buy o-rings very cheap online and do the simple repairs yourself. FX provides instructional videos on youtube. https://www.youtube.com/FXAirguns/videos

Thx! Got O-rings laying around in all sizes. And like you said, you can buy them cheap online. I was just so naive, thinking that the word “warranty” meant something @FX Europe.Especially on a 2-3 months old, $1.800 airgun. Them videos are there for a reason. Now i know that.

Kinda sad. It was my first FX. I also have German & Turkish airguns. The German service is unbelievable! Very accurate guns, but no power at all.

Thx again! And I’ll keep an eye on this top forum, regarding your future HP-parts. 👍

Cheers.

An unmodified Impact isn't capable of that speed even at 150 bar. You were probably 100 fps slower before at 140 bar.

I was told by the tech at FX that it was the seat that failed. I don't think that's an o-ring, it's a hard part...

The original valve seat failed? That was common in the older guns because of the chamfer almost intersecting the o-ring groove. The newer guns from about half way through the gen 2 had a redesigned valve seat that didn't break. I believe the MKIII will have an integrated valve seat... in other words it will be cut directly into the valve housing.

So, no more impact mk2 for me. We got a saying here : “the bucket overflowed“! I contacted FX USA twice about upgraded/HP parts for the impact mk2. Answer : “We do not have any HP or upgraded parts, that will give our products more power. This could result in serious safety issues, and warranty loss” !!

So after that, i contacted FX Sweden( Logic, because I’m from Europe ) Answer : “Hi . Thank you for purchasing our products. Regarding your question about parts that would end your warranty, FX Airguns never sold any, from factory deviating parts, with the intention to gain more power. We highly recommend to only use the products provided settings possibilities”.

I know there are some of you guy’s that can provide HP kits in the near future, but GODDA**ED, i hate liars! Youtube, social media & this top forum, is FULL of people who bought HP parts from FX & E. Rowe! First the “pre-order” BS !( ordered an mk2 at the end of March 2019) to be delivered end September 2019! This, while outside-Europe owners, are already rebuilding theirs after shooting a few thousand pellets/slugs.

A friend of mine has taken over the order, and gave me back my deposit. I know it are great guns, but this is a principal matter. God knows why they are only treating Europeans like s**t.

So I’ll have to continue shooting them muskrats with the Hatsan Hercules or the Mossberg 500. Only bummer with these 2, is that they are loud as hell. 1 rat per night....😡

Cheers

I was under the impression that the valve seats stopped retaining reliability with porting beyond 5.8mm. I think some had been ported to 6.5 or something? And they were only holding to 1-2k shots. I ported mine to 5.8, so we'll see. In the process of making a hammer weight as well, so I'll be doing some testing with that. BUT I'm tuning a 22. I realize most guys are not.

5.8mm is good for .22 but you'll get the most out of elongating the brass inlet and pellet probe. No need for a hammer weight under 150 bar and that's all you need.

Picked up 75 fps there alone. Porting valve seat did literally nothing. But i Can't really tune past 130 bar give or take. The hammer requires a stupendous amount of adjustment to do anything more at 135 or 140 bar. It's extremely apparent the hammer needs a bit more weight to even run 135 bar effectively.

Which gauges do you have? The small chrome ones are known to be off by 30 bar or more.
