I have fitted the Huma brass port and now I want make a new pellet probe with the thin tip, like the pic below. I prefer this to open the hole of the original probe. 

I have lathe and aluminium but not stainless steel rod, so I had thought to do the probe in aluminium or brass. Could be possible fit a pellet probe made of aluminium or brass or necessarily should be made of stainless steel. ??

The impact it´s .25 and the Dreamline .22.

It has to be stronger the aluminium, the tip is only 1,5mm so it Will bent very easy if not stainless.

In your experience, how do you find pin style vs half moon or elongated probes. Not just in fps, also in consistentecy.

I see no difference in consistency, or problems with different pellets.

i have them both in my dreamline and my impact and have shot around 2000 shots with Them now and i have had zero problems.

even when speed shooting.

If I may suggest, make the probe without the pin, then find some stainless steel rod of the correct diameter, drill the end of the probe holder, cut a length of rod to insert then silver solder it in place. It would be pretty tough to try to turn the pin on a lathe like you show.
