The difference between the two pellets weight is the difference in speed between the two as well. With slugs, at a 5 grain weight difference between sizes, I am seeing about a 30 FPS difference in speed. This is with just changing the weight of the slugs and not tuning for the gun grouping size. The group's posted are very decent sized groups.

Ok so I’m a little confused here. What is this “little screw” that’s being referred too? Are we just talking about the hammer spring adjusting screw or some other screw I’ve not heard of.

I don't see what you're pointing at in the pic. There's a retaining screw for the knob itself in the center and a hammer spring preload adjustment inside the slot to the left of the knob.

In the slot to the left of the knob, you actually have a little screw (tiny allen key). When you turn the knob to max, you can check whether the black slot on the left can still be pushed further by hand to the left. If yes, you can maximise your max setting by screwing this tiny screw further.

Yes sir, I'm very familiar with the impact but I feel the descriptions in this thread were a bit confusing for those unfamiliar with the gun. It's much easier to follow if you put the allen key in the screw or adjustment before taking a picture. Then there is no doubt.

Turning the screw on the hammer tension will give a few more fps but not much. You really need to get a hammer weight. It will boost your power more than the little screw can. You can get a hammer weight for the impact from forums members for $30 to $40. Easy to install and can be taken back out if you ever wish to go back to stock.
