FX Impact Mk3 - Pest eradication settings help???

Hey ya'll

Another guy trying to make heads/tails of settings for his FX Impact Mk3 in .177

I'm doing pest bird eradication work, usually to about 30 yards distance. I was wondering if people have any settings or advice on not getting 'punch through'??

Currently using pellets that do expand - but I can't seem to get the accuracy. It's direct out of the box so I'm guessing I need to lower pressures and go through the whole tuning process?

Try 177 hades at between 600-700fps. Just dial the power wheel and preload so your are shooting at 600-700fps, no need to lower the reg.

Good advice by qball, both the pellet and the velocity. But I would say also try a heavy wadcutter like the 9.3gr RWS Supermag. They're a death-dealing hammer on birds and squirrels, and less likely to produce passthroughs. If neither the Hades nor Supermag produce sufficiently good groups, try the H&N Baracuda Hunter Extremes, which is another dome/wadcutter hybrid like the Hades.

Powerwheel - Preload - 600 to 700fps. This I can do (when my chrony comes...) Bloody Garmin Xero® C1 Pro Chronographs are rare as rocking horse poop down here... LOL
