I did some rework yesterday on hammer and mechanism and noticing some wear marks on the rod end where the hammer C3 puck hits (and most likely bounces/rattles). This is currently with some 5K shots. Not really concerned for the wear nothing seals there, but again just saying.
For the next thing I have a question:
I am noticing a wear on the hammer total length, that means the Valve timing is changing over time.
I measured the weight on the current installed vs a new hammer, the same weight but shorter for about 1mm.
That means the C3 (black delrin piece) got compressed from the hard hits.
I had no need earlier to think about, but I cannot recall seeing the stand alone C3 anywhere. I would really stay away from buying a complete hammer if the black plastic wears out, if I would need to order a new piece I would do on lathe from peek same as I did earlier for Valve head when I did a power rebuilt.
