FX Impact MK2 ? FX Crown ?

Hi guys, here from Chile again.... im still deciding which gun to buy, is not an easy question with some many greats airguns out there.

My options now are: FX Crown synthetic .22 with 500mm barrel; FX Impact X .22 with 600mm barrel or the mk2 I dont know yet if its worth the extra money... I would love to hear some insight on that

these will be primarally used with jsb 18 and the new fx hybrid slugs to hunt up to 100yds (birds and rabbits) and to do some benchrest shooting up to 200yds, i would love to leave them as they come from the factory and have 2 configurations for the different ammo, because i will be swtiching frequently. The Hunting will be mostly walking so a light weight is appreciated.

I was considering the FX Dreamline Bullpup not to long ago, but with this new hybrid slugs from FX I think i might need the extra power from the crown or the impact to shoot them at around 930 fps and have a decent shot count, I was also considering the Crown Continnum but the 700mm barrel is way to long for me and the 380 mm barrel will not generate that extra power for the slugs...

I would love to hear from you about this options ...

Thanks,

I'd go with a 700mm impact MKII. It's still shorter than the crown but you will have more power. Use a light scope and rings to keep weight down. A few minutes porting the brass pellet inlet and pellet probe will give you a considerable increase in power or shot count because you get the same velocity at 20 to 30 bar less. It's worth the extra money to get the performance you want.

I just went through a couple of months of research and after much deliberation ordered a .22/700mm Impact MKII.

Similar to you, it would be hunting and pesting 75 to 125 yards with long range plinking and target shooting with slugs and switching to pellets for close in work. I plan on doing the TP and pellet probe mods but figure that in .22 caliber, with the long barrel, the MKII will have the power and the flexibility to cover my needs without having to resort to high regulator settings and aftermarket plenums.

Good luck with your choice!

Hank

For slug impact MKII would be a better choice in term of power but at least you should pay 2.5k for gun and barrel plus idk how much for plenum and compeer the price to the synthetic crown which costs half. Also crown x barrel is all the way chocked unlike impact with 7 inches chock.

I saw ed r5m with 700 mm barrel but no more reviews after that.

You've got some bad information my friend. $2100 USD for the gun and you don't need anything else in .22 caliber. Crown and impact barrels are choked exactly the same. Only the 1st generation impact had a partially rifled barrel.

Do you know the exact weight of that setup ? And how it compares to the .22 600mm impact mk2 ?

My intention is to leave the airgun as it comes from the factory so no mods will be made on the gun for extra power (I wouldn’t know how), so I’m thinking if the 600mm has enough power to shoot those light pellets up to 980 fps. For me the lighter the gun the best
