Fx impact mk2 barrel question

You can use your barrel housing as it is the same for all calibers.

But when changing calibers you need these three parts, in your specific caliber, along with your barrel liner.

The barrel attachment needs to heated to be removed from the housing as it has locktight applied at the factory.

The transfer port also has locktight applied.

Thanks biohazardman

I thought that the barrel housing is the same.

And those parts i can take off my 700 mm .22 barrel kit or not?

Yes, you can take them off of another barrel of the same caliber. But heating them up and then putting new locktight on is a bit tedious so you probly don't want to do it that often.

Don't forget to pull the o-rings from inside the transfer port and any others that are nearby the heat you are generating cuz you will cook them otherwise.

+1 on this. Don’t ask how I know…..😢

By the way, when you remove the parts and put them back together, I have found the lock tight to be unnecessary. I have done this a few times and have never had the parts unscrew or separate.

Same after the initial time taking it apart I just do them hand tight.

I would lock tite all pieces together except the connection of the stainless adapter to the barrel sleeve. That way you remove the transfer port along with the adapter as one assembly, as it sounds like possibly in the future you may want to revert back to 30 cal

You can read my mind.I think i will folow your advice. Thanks

After swapping barrels don't forget to tighten the grub screw. Don't ask how I know...ruined my range day

I chose to go back to the original knob style for two reasons- it’s a big reminder that lets me know not to forget locking down the barrel, and lastly I’ll never worry about rounding off an Allen socket or even have to carry an Allen tool

I think this is better solution then 3 mm allen screw.
