FX FX Impact M4 - Trigger issue/question

Hello all,

I’ve recently noticed something odd with my FX Impact M4: the trigger occasionally seems to stick or feel “jammed” before breaking. It doesn’t happen every shot, but enough that I’ve started to wonder if it’s normal or a sign of something that needs attention.

Since my rifle is still quite new (and I’m relatively inexperienced when it comes to working on it myself), I’d like to ask:

Has anyone else experienced a sticky or hesitant trigger on their Impact M4?

Is this a known/common issue with the platform, or might it just be my unit?

Is it something that can be resolved with a simple adjustment or cleaning, or is it better to let the dealer/gunsmith handle it under warranty/maintenance?

I don’t want to risk damaging anything since I’m still getting familiar with the rifle. Any advice or shared experiences would be really helpful!

Thanks and kind regards,
Dutch.

I believe @greenbeans was experiencing something similar. I have to M4 and neither are having that issue atm. How many shots have you put through it?

Hmmm not sticky I guess… did you adjust anything on the trigger?

First thing I’d make sure: it has a screw to switch between match/hunting etc. mine came with the screw for match screwed in but also a screw in the hole for hunting and it wasn’t backed out enough to not interfere. Make sure only the one you want to be activated is screwed in.

Hello JaceSpace,

I shot about 1950 pellets in total. I noticed it after 1000 shots and, it looks like it is happening a bit more frequenter.

Thanks you Greenbeans. I will check it and update here if done. 👍🏻

No worries. When you mess with the trigger be careful though. When I noticed mine was acting up within the next ten shots or so it shot one with a 5 seconds delay. Like, pull the trigger, nothing, shot fired 5 seconds later with hand off the grip… so make sure it is working as it should without actually shooting before actually loading a pellet/slug :)

Generally the trigger adjustments on the m4 are VERY fine. It’s an awesome trigger but you gotta take your time and make super small adjustments, check and repeat.

The HUMA M3 replacement trigger will release the sear and fire a shot with the safety on if bumped from underneath.

The stock M4 will release the sear and fire a shot after a time delay with no hand on the rifle.

So it appears both HUMA and FX want the M3 & M4 platforms to emulate the Barret MK22 Precision Sniper Rifle.

It is simply amazing how hard the airgun toy industry tries to be just like the real gun industry!
