So I had the high power Huma regulator installed by my local FX shop. Same result. Rifle was not used for several days and it took 5-6 shots to get it on speed. 4 hours later, fully charged, it was off by 40 fps on first shot. 20 fps off seconds shot. So I guess the new regulator did not help. It seams the longer the rifle sits the worse this gets. Btw, the rifle was not chambered and loaded with air while resting. Just in case anyone was wondering.
There is one thing my dealer did though. They set the reg pressure to 80 when this is the 100+ regulator version. There are two versions by Huma, a low power and a high power version. I got the high. The high is supposed to be above 100. I am not sure if that is causing any issues. It might. But otherwise the regulator works flawlessly. I just sent through 100-150 pellets. It keeps the speed within 5 fps with a rare 10fps change. Which I think is caused by the pellet rather than there regulator. So this was definitely a good upgrade.
But all this is very very weird. Factory regulator, and the Huma both off speed on first few shots. I am starting to think that this is not a regulator issue. But I am not knowledgable in PCPs. Anyways... I think I am ready to give up and send my M3 to the classifieds. Someone benching will enjoy it more than I do. For hunting, I just don't ever have the opportunity to grab the rifle when I see something and be precise first shot. My U2 being the primary rifle, this is exactly what the M3 was supposed to be for me. Grab it quick and shoot.
