FX Impact M3 30 cal for hunting Coyote or Foxes

Hi guys, looking at purchasing a FX Impact M3 30 cal. Currently using a 17 HMR for shooting Foxes, but am limited to range. Someone suggested o try the Impact. Due to the outlay I'm needing to know if it will give me the extra range as well as the know down for a humane kill. Currently limited to about 120 metres with the HMR. What range will the Impact shoot with 30 call. I have seen target shooting up to 300 yards 25 cal. Any advised appreciated.
Thanks Steve

You are going to be around the same distance with the Impact. I have the Maverick VP in .30cal, and I'm working on a new 110fpe tune, but with that, I only would go 150 yards at most.

You have to understand in the airgun world, the energy comes from the weight of the ammo, not the velocity, as velocity is usually capped at 1000fps at the muzzle or less. I would never try to shoot pest or game at 200 yards, not because the gun couldn't keep an 5-6 inch group, but because by the time the round reaches the target, more than likely the target has moved.

You could definitely kill a coyote even with a vitals shot I personally killed a yote a few weeks ago with a vital shot at 100yds with a 25 cal fx Maverick shooting a nsa 38.5 gr slug at 940 fps producing 75fpe. if there is one thing I can suggest use slugs as they have higher bc's than pellets and have nice hollow points also nsa slugs are very accurate great performing slugs so give them a try
