FX FX Impact liner decision

I have the 600 mm bbl m3. 30 cal. I just recently retuned mine to about 888 fps and it seems to shoot the jsb 44. Gr. Pellets well. Had the speed to low at about 850 fps and I didn’t like the accuracy. I was aiming for more shots but it wasn’t worth it Not sure what liner I have but I but I have had the fps at 900 and the jsb 44 gr. Seem to like that
speed as well.
Anyway dropped the fps to 850 hoping for more shots per fill , but it wasn’t worth it. The gun just wasn’t happy at that speed. Mostly used for ground squirrels.

My M3 came originally as a .22, but I replaced the barrel with a .30 from my old M2. I t has a 1:37 liner which shoots 44 gr pellets well at 885 fps, over 900, things begin to go bad. I don’t think you want to push pellets above 900 regardless of what liner you have. The newer liners provide are 1:22 which are more in the realm of slugs. I think FX is trying to sell rifles that are more do-all.

Yes, 1-22 liners are jack of few trades and masters of none! (Hybrids are one of the exceptions) If pellets are your focus? And 1-40’s are your liner? Stay under 900 and don’t hesitate to go down to 850 fps and work up in 5 fps increments they may dial in? I would only recommend 44 grn jsb with that liner for best results, there are exceptions, but they are heavily choked and other brand alloys will eventually severely foul in my experience and that is difficult to recover from, some say they get ruined? But they are just fouled. Good luck!

Correct to both of you.
I spend hundreds of NSA slugs, 43-55gn trying all kind of speeds with absolutely zero luck, 2-3 slugs will go in one hole at 40 yards then rest are flyers, I had zero luck with NSA slugs, have not tried hybrids.
I figure I'll just stick to pellets, 44-50 JSB worked well in 850-870, FX pellets not doing good ether.

I thought maybe new 1:40 liner can be more forgiving.

I worked in 10FPS increments, but again, it takes hundreds of pellets figuring this out.

Thank s for feedback.

if anyone else have any feedback, please post.
Thank you all
