Hammer spring adjuster screw fell out. Luckily, I was on the bench when it happened. I don't recall having the screw turned way out and am wondering if the screw walking is a problem for people and if so, what do they do about it.

Once I finish a tune, I put a drop of clear fingernail polish on the threads to keep it from walking. Vibratite works well also.

I removed my hammer spring tension screws on my FX Crown and Dreamline and put a couple of rounds of teflon thread tape on the threads and then reinstalled them. Now they have a good amount of resistance when adjusted and can’t back out or move unwillingly. They stay where I set them at and still can adjust with ease, it’s magical!

Thanks guys. I was thinking of a touch of blue loctite but didn’t want to cause it to seize or strip out being it is such a small allen screw.

Multi Thread type dental floss, two threads through the thread hole then reinstall the adjustment screw. Don’t bother asking me how I know this fix. Nice snug hold!

string wax, bee wax will hold it and no hassle in the future with loctite if you would want to remove it again for whatever reason.
