I have been thinking about getting a .22 impact, but can’t decide between a fixed shroud or telescoping. What say you guys?

I have the Telescpic shroud 0.22 cal and telescopic 0.25 cal and they both are sooo quite i can shoot in my living room without my children in the other room noticing (air only, not pellets).
I do recommend Telescopic because it is shorter when retracted and you can extend it when needed.

Wait and get the Twist X barrel which will be available later this month. All shrouds will now be fixed on the Impact.

I'd go with fixed. Telescopic can develop some accuracy issues if the oring gets worn out. Simple fix, but something you don't want to have to deal with. Fixed imo also looks better. The telescopic idea is actually a good one though.
As far as stx barrel. Not necessary unless you plan to shoot something other than JSB dome pellets and their derivatives.
