So Im trying real hard to not start another moan and groan post on the Impact, but its getting harder to resist.

I decided to pull the barrel off and see about cleaning it to improve accuracy. I completely removed the thumb wheel and tried to pull the barrel out. It won't come, appears to be stuck. Im afraid if I pull any harder I will break the telescoping shroud.

Any one else have this problem? How should I proceed? I really don't want to try and deal with A O A again, they have not been returning my phone calls or emails.

Please help if you can. Thanks

Bonzi,

It should not be stuck, very snug and tight definitely. The first time I took mine out it was discouraging as well, seemed like it did not budge at all. So I figured, well its all metal, nothing is going to break. I asked my wife to hold the receiver and I pulled it out with quite a good amount of force. I was shocked at how tight it was. But yeah go ahead, if ita anything like mine it will take 2 people at first.

you are correct it was stuck. What most likely happen was the thumb wheel probably loosen up some while shooting, causing the barrel to move a little and causing the hole to warp a little or round out the brass. So when you went to remove the barrel the brass was now spread a little causing it not to want to come out. AOA says it happens quite a bit and tells people to make sure after every clip to check the barrel thumb screw. Once you get it out its good to go, because the brass that was holding it in place is now scrapped away.
