I just got .35 impact and it barks even with donnyfl fx. I was looking at Donny EMPEROR as option to quiet it down. Is it even possible to tone it down to the level where neighbors won’t call? Or my only option is to start the tractor while shooting.Â

I believe even a email to donny he reccomends the ronin im not sure if the emperor is better but worth and email to donny.

A Emperor will quite your .357 FX Impact right down.Â
I have a .30 Emperor on my .22 Condor that's pushing up to 80ft/lbs. It would be a lot quieter if I had a .22/.25 Emperor.Â
I don't need to worry about neighbors in houses. My main problem is through traffic. In fact I would give up the distance for more privacy and a serious concrete bench. Might have to work on that.
For you though, get the Emperor if you don't mind long and desire quiet.Â

Why would you want to shoot a 35 in your backyard? I can see it if you own a lot of land, then who cares about the noise.

I second this. You are better off using .177, .20, or .22 in a “backyard”. The amount of property damage or bodily injury inflicted by one errant shot could be catastrophic!
And I get it, finding a range, or farm to shoot can be a pain, or drag. But, responsibility should trump desire when harm is a factor.
I don’t shoot anything more than 12 ft lbs in my yard. I also don’t shoot lead in my yard... I hope that I don’t come off with a holier than thou connotation. Just like driving a car, wearing masks, obeying morals from the good book, we all have our part to do in this world. From a selfish point of view, I don’t want any negative attention brought upon our sport.

You're not going to suppress the impact noise of a .35 cal. unless shooting into a rubber mulch type bin. The Emperor will help a lot with gun noise. I have one of those on my Slayer. I also have a Shogun on my .30 Impact that works good enough. Again, it's the ammo's impact that's the real noise maker.

Donny has a combo Ronin tube plus Emperor, that you screw together. It makes for a LONNGGGG presentation, kinda hilarious, but it does seem to work. I can't tell whether mine works better on my power-tuned .25 than just the Emperor alone, because with the Emperor I just hear the ping by my ear from the bullpup, and then the loud THWACK! when I hit a squirrel or a tree/other hard background.
So that's the thing -- it may not be about the moderator entirely. Just hitting a target can create a lot of noise. If it does with my .25, I don't see why you wouldn't have the same problem but worse with a .35.
If I recall correctly, the edgunleshiy channel shows him using his "dirty 30" tuned down low and still getting away with it in a close-ish suburban setting. But that's the thing, his is tuned way down. And it's still not a .35, it's a .30. I'm thinking that moderator or no, you still need to lessen the sound of impact, and that will come from tuning your gun to a lower power profile.
And I'd still agree with another commenter here -- .35 in close quarters with other people sounds kinda scary. What happens if you get a weird ricochet or flyer or pass-through? I mean, people are killing adult hogs with .35's. Maybe instead of trying to cram a square peg into a round hole, you'd be better off getting something a little safer for your situation?

Should be a lot quieter and safer to shoot in a back yard if you back the power all the way down to it's minimum which is probably what you should do for safety reasons unless you have at least several hundred yards to play with. Even when shooting towards the ground, the ricochet may easily break a window or really hurt someone a hundred yards away.
