FX Hybrids in .25cal — MK2 and Weight Question

FX Hybrids in .25cal:

MK2 and Weight Question

1️⃣
Just got my first pack of .25cal Hybrids into Peru. Excited! 😊
Now, the surprise was to read "MK2" on the package...

● Since when is there an MK2 of the Hybrid .25cal slug?

● What is it's difference to MK1?

● Where was that announced?

● Why can I not find any seller in the US or Europe stating they are selling MK2, neither through words nor an updated photo of the package?

2️⃣
What's the weight of the .25cal Hybrid?

✅ Sure:
▪FX Sweden and FX USA say: 26.3gr
▪The European sellers say: 26.3gr

⛔ But:
▪The package says: 26gr
▪The US sellers say: 26gr

Any solution/ explanation for this?

Thanks.
Matthias 😊

You can get them from rmr. Here’s the link

I have both. When I first received a couple packs and they were marked MKll, I broke out my calipers. They might be .001 longer. That’s the only difference I found. Just lube them and shoot them. They will do ok out of your RPB barrel.

Well, that sounds good.

LUBE them? — Would you elaborate?
Some time ago I applied a thin coat of WD40-brand silicon to my .22 slugs. I'm sorry to report no improvement in the precision department....

Thank you!
Matthias

It’s not totally about precision. It’s about the longevity of whatever precision you were able to achieve before you are forced to clean the barrel. Then shoot however many shots your barrel requires to season, then check zero. I don’t enjoy any of the stuff I just listed. Especially if it happens or starts to happen while I’m hunting. My goal is to try to get 200 shots before I have to clean. Can’t do it with the slugs I use without lube. There are just so many things down in the slug hole if you want to acknowledge them. One lube might give you the best longevity, but it takes 5 or 6 shots for the gun to start cutting holes after it sits for a day or two. Lots of experimentation with your slug and your barrel.

You got me curious I went out and checked my FX slugs they're Mk2's from ages ago, they are exactly and I mean EXACTLY the same as the RMR's. I
was going to reweigh them but....it seems my scale is dead. Please send flowers or cash. I'll reweigh when i get a new scale but I remember they were exactly the same, just don't remember if 26 or 26.3 and I can't find my notes.

UPDATE, my scale, thanks to all the prayers, has just after I bought a new one, decided to work. So the final answer to the age old question of the Chicken or the egg is....26 grams, almost exactly. The almost part is, when you start adding on pellets it does tend to climb a bit but, IMHO totally insignificant. Let me add one thing about the RMR pellets, they are dirty and absolutely need to be cleaned, and in some cases in the hole in the point need the flashing removed.
